Meditation
|
|
Meditation allows us to open up to healing
and to recover from
stress by relaxing completely. Meditation is a bit like sleeping but we are usually
aware.
- You do not have to take a long time to
meditate but set aside a time when you will not be disturbed, a few minutes
at first but as you become more comfortable you can go longer.
- If you like you can light a candle,
but ensure it is in a safe place and listen to soft music.
- There is no particular way to sit, but
to be relaxed is very important. A comfortable chair with your back straight
and legs not crossed is OK
- Place your hands on your thighs, open,
up or down whichever is most comfortable, but as relaxed as possible.
- At first your mind will wander on the
day's anxieties, but try to focus on a particular thing. Often your
breathing is an easy thing to choose.
- Let your breathing become slow and
relaxed, sometimes counting in and out evenly will allow you to focus
better.
- If you are able to visualise things
easily, imagine a healing light flowing down from
above and entering your body, or that you are going on a walk noticing all the
Nature around you.
- with experience you will feel your
thoughts slow quicker, you will not need to focus so hard, and you may begin
to experience feelings of peace and harmony. Ultimately you may go to
places, see and feel various things.
- In time you may find you can meditate
while doing your work or the ironing, a job that need's meditation if any
thing does!

You will not feel anything unusual unless
you wish to do so, you can remember things with more clarity, think about
solutions to problems. As everyone is different it is not possible to generalise
about your meditations.
Spiritualists would find that this is the
easiest time to attune to spirit, and the Reiki practitioner to attune to the
Universal Life Energy. What you see will be individual to you, the same as your
dreams are.
If you have difficulties Your local
Spiritualist Church will be able to help, often the Baia Faith offer free
meditation or relaxation sessions locally.
