The Railway at Chilworth, Surrey

One of my early railway photographs shows SR N Class 2-6-0 No. 31827 leaving Chilworth Station in the 1960's with a train from Reading bound for Redhill. In those days much of my spare time was spent at Tangley Crossing and Chilworth Station watching the trains. On summer Saturdays there were many extra trains from the Western Region to the Kent and Sussex Coast, and many new engine numbers could be underlined in my Ian Allan ABC of Locomotives book.
