CHURCH CHOIR
This is an important part of our Church any help you can give would be very
much appreciated. The choir is really struggling for members and their future
is uncertain. Please consider offering your help if you can in any way and
speak to Jenny Holland. We welcome members of the congregation who just would
like to sing along!
PAT GOUDE
Our dear friend and fellow worshiper Pat sadly passed away on April 28. Her
funeral will be on Monday 11 May in Church at 11.30am and afterwards at Rotherham
Crematorium, followed by refreshments in the Parish rooms,
Pat's family would like to extend a welcome to you all.
Pat was involved in so many areas of church and community life down the years
and will be greatly missed by many people.
CURATE OF TODWICK
The Reverend Adrian Whitehall will be leaving his post as Curate of Todwick
I at the end of May. We wish both he and his wife Ruth well as they begin
a new ministry in India with the Church Missionary Society. I have valued
' Adrian as a colleague and his ministry has been appreciated not only in
Todwick but also in Harthill, Thorpe and Wales. His last services at Wales
3rd May 9.15am, Harthill 17th May10.45am and Thorpe 24th May 9.00am. We hope
very much that Adrian remains in touch, and he will be greatly missed. Gary.

ADMISSION OF CHURCHWARDENS !
ARCHDEACON'S VISITATION & BISHOPS WELCOME SERVICE
The Archdeacon of Sheffield and Rotherham and the Bishop of Sheffield will
be holding this service at Rotherham Minster on Thursday 14 May at 7.30pm.
At this service your Church Wardens will be sworn in for the next year. All
members of our Church are welcome. Beryl and David would very much ! welcome
your support.

HANGING BASKETS AND PLANTERS
This year Nora Brook will be taking orders for Hanging Baskets and Planters,
if you wish to order any, please put your name on the list at the back of
Church, if you have any queries about these new arrangements please speak
to Nora.
HAVE YOU MADE A PLEDGE?—HERE'S THE OPPORTUNITY
There are now 2 lists on the notice board, one for the summer fayre, which
we I hope will have some new stallholders names on it, together with some
times : you may be able to give to help with the catering. The second list
is for the ( Flower Festival weekend, we need stewards and help with the catering
over 2 days. As always any help with baking for both occasions is as always
! gratefully appreciated.
APCM & ELECTORAL ROLE
I The Annual Parochial Church Meeting was held in Church on Sunday 26th I
April at 10.30am. The new revised Electoral Role is on the notice board. We
would like to offer our grateful thanks to John Payne for his invaluable work
as Treasurer for the last 5 years, and also to Marjorie who has helped quietly
! in the background. THANK YOU BOTH. The new Treasurer is John Slater, whom
we welcome to our fold. Beryl Webster and David Shepherd were
re- elected as Church Wardens, grateful thanks to you both. The Deputy Church
Wardens are Jenny Holland, Tom Staniforth and Doris Brabbs, we are very grateful
for your help and contribution—MANY THANKS.
Our thanks also go to Janice Walker and David Ashurst for their contribution
as PCC members over the past 3 years—THANK YOU BOTH. We welcome and
look j forward to Marilyn White, Jane Smith and John Payne joining as new
PCC members-WELCOME.
WISH UPON A STAR CHARITY FITNESS DAY
Gary managed 1.3 miles in half an hour and Rebecca completed 2.6 on a : gammy
ankle and Monica out shone them both in the afternoon. Approx' £500
has been raised for terminally ill children. Look for the photo's in this
| weeks Dinnington Guardian. Please also support Monica as she competes in
\ the Race for Life.
TABLE TOPS OR WOOD REQUIRED
We require any wood or table tops, or trestle tables for the forthcoming j
Flower Festival in June. If you can help please speak to David Shepherd.
SUMMER FAYRE
David Shepherd will be chairing a meeting in Church on Tuesday 19th May :
at 7.00pm, to discuss all things relating to the Fayre. So if you have any
ideas, want to help, or run a stall please come along. REMEMBER WE NEED YOUR
HELP FOR THIS TO SUCCEED.
PARISH TRIP TO DURHAM 16th MAY
This is a jewel of a city to visit, the cost for the day is. Adults £10
& Children 5-18, £8. Deposit £5 per place, final payment by
May 3rd. See Jenny or Doug.
WALES METHODIST CHAPEL
May Queen Crowning On Saturday 2nd May 2009 at 7pm
Everyone is invited to come and witness the ceremony and then enjoy light refreshments and a potted Panto Performance of Babes in the Wood

PLEASE NOTE ! The Family Service 14th June is cancelled. There is a Family Service at the Parish Camp at Walesby
5th SUNDAY IN THE MONTH
Whenever there is a 5th Sunday in the month then the 3 Parishes will join
together for a Cluster Communion Service. This next happens on Sunday 31st
May at Wales Church at 9.15am. Please make every effort to support this new
venture. There will be no morning services at Thorpe or Harthill that morning.
