The Tivoli Theatre is a restored Art-Deco, 500 seat theatre, showing a wide programme of live productions including musicals, shows, plays, rock, ballet, jazz, comedy and music hall, with many major star names. It is also a superb venue for catching up with the latest giant screen surround sound movies. Originally opened as the Tivoli Cinema at Borough House in 1936, the Tivoli fell into a state of disrepair before closing in the 1980s. It was restored and re-opened in 1994, since when Wimborne Drama has staged three productions each year and is honoured to be the theatre's resident amateur dramatics company.
