Are you looking for a city centre venue?

Rooms at the Quaker Meeting House are available for hire to groups and individuals.  We welcome a wide variety of social, religious and charity organisations, as well as private and commercial customers.

The building is in the centre of Chester, close to the Cathedral, within easy reach of public transport, the Park & Ride service and car parking. It is a purpose-built facility offering several room sizes and services to suit a variety of meetings and events. We have worked together with the Access Service at Chester City Council to provide a venue accessible for all members of the community.

The Meeting House has four rooms which accommodate from 2 to 80 people. Three of the rooms have a hearing loop. There is a unisex disabled toilet, unisex baby-changing facilities, and full wheelchair access (lift to first floor level).

Rooms are available every day from 9am to 9:30pm. Bookings are made per session (morning, afternoon, evening) and prices are charged per session, regardless of length. Prices per session start at £14.

Hire of rooms includes use of the kitchen, which is fully equipped to provide drinks and light refreshments for groups of up to 80. We can also provide equipment such as flip chart, overhead projector with screen,  or DVD player with monitor.

More details about the rooms

Large Meeting Room - This is the room we use for worship, and it can comfortably accommodate 70 to 80 people. The screen between the Meeting Room and the Library slides to one side to allow for extra seating, or to provide easier access for catering, etc. This room is fitted with a hearing loop.

Room One - This room can accommodate up to 30 people, but its charges are low, because it has skylights rather than windows. There is a large fixed white-board.

Room Two - This is the smallest room and is ideal for groups of up to 15 people, or for one-to-one meetings such as counselling or music tuition. It is fitted with a hearing loop. There are windows and a door onto the patio.

Room Three - This room can accommodate up to 25 people. The curtains create an efficient blackout for showing slides etc. It has a hearing loop and a fixed white-board. It has a private kitchen, and there are windows and a door onto the patio.

The capacity of each room as given above is based on people sitting rows facing a speaker. The capacity will vary, depending on the furniture used and the layout. If you are unsure which room will suit your needs the Warden will be happy to advise you.
