The FilmCentre St. Austell was built in 1936 and was opened as the Odeon, St. Austell. Originally the cinema had one screen, and was capable of seating almost thirteen hundred people. Thanks to C. Polden for this image. Visit his website at http://www.geocities.com/albanyward

The cinema consisted of a large seating area (Stalls), and a balcony (Circle) area. The Circle area was partitioned off, and used to construct two smaller screens (Now called Screens Two & Three). Later on, two screens were created in the rear Stalls area, creating Screens Four and Five.

Our Primary Screen, Screen One, features Dolby Digital Sound, and high backed seating. Screens Two, Three, Four & Five all have Dolby SR Sound. Screens Two & Three have tiered stadium seating.

Our candy bar offers a wide selection of popcorn, soft drinks, ices and confectionary and our licensed bar "Oscars" opens each evening and is a good rendezvous at the start of your evenings visit.
